The Mathilda summer blouse is easy to sew thanks to the raglan and the eye-catcher is clearly the slit upper arm seam. To do this, a piece of the seam is left open, the great thing is that everyone can vary the opening to suit their taste. A narrow elastic band is threaded into the sleeve hem. You can combine the blouse casually with jeans, but sewn in silk it can look quite elegant. Mathilda is definitely a great alternative to the summer shirt.
Length at center back = 65 – 71 cm.
In this pattern, Mathilda was sewn from a polyester georgette.

Required material:
We recommend a soft, flowing viscose, or a polyester or silk satin.

Cutting:
Cut the pattern pieces from your outer fabric. Lay the fabric right side up. Lay the selvedges parallel to the middle so that you can place the front and back pieces in the fold. The pattern pieces should all lie face up. Always align the thread arrow in the same direction on all pieces and parallel to the selvedge of the fabric. Transfer all the clips from the pattern through a 3mm long incision with scissors or chalk and mark the ends of the darts. Clip the seam allowance in the fabric fold because this is always a center. Markings define positions of dart ends, pocket positions, and much more. Transfer these either with chalk or pins. 
What you need from fabric:
- 1x front part in the break
- 1x back part in the break
- 2x VT sleeves in opposite directions
- 2x RT sleeves in opposite directions
- 1x neck hole strip
Sewing instructions:
To sew this blouse you will need a sewing machine and an overlock sewing machine, or alternatively the zigzag stitch on your sewing machine to neaten the cut edges.
In addition to the description, the colorful lines in the pictures show you where a seam needs to be sewn or something needs to be glued.
When sewing, pay attention to the seam allowance included in the pattern.
Have fun sewing! 
First, sew off the bust darts in the front using the clips to the marked end. The dart contents are ironed flat upwards. We have serged the hem of our fine goods so that the fabric does not fray and is easier to process later. This is not necessary for stronger materials because the hem is folded twice during processing. 
The sleeve pattern pieces are finished at the upper arm seam, see marked lines. 
Sew the upper and lower parts of the upper arm seam (1cm seam allowance) up to 1cm beyond the open upper arm seam so that the ends of the upper arm slit do not fray. 
Fold in the seam allowance at the upper arm slit 2x1cm and iron. 
Stitch the upper arm slit on the sides with 1cm and sew along the ends just above or below the opening. If the slit opens up too wide for you, you can place them just above each other at the point marked in the cut and stitch them together. 
Sew the front raglan seam from the sleeve into the front armhole. Finish the seam allowances together. 
Follow the same principle with the back raglan seam. 
Close the underarm seam and the side seam in one step and neaten the seam allowances back together. 
Now we come to edging the neck hole. Close the neck hole strip first. Now pin the right side of the neck hole strip to the left side of the fabric of the top and sew the strip all around with a 1cm seam allowance. 
Fold the neck hole strip outwards and iron over the 1cm seam allowance. Then place the strip around the seam allowance of the top so that the first seam is covered. If this is not the case, cut back the seam allowance on the top a little. The strip is stitched on close to the edge from the outside. 
Fold in the hem 2 x 0.7cm and topstitch from the outside and iron. 
Fold in the sleeve hem 2 x 1cm and topstitch it. Leave a gap in the stitching seam at the level of the underarm seam to allow the elastic to be inserted. 
Using a small safety pin, pull the elastic band into the sleeve hem. Then shorten the ribbon to the desired length (plus seam allowance) and sew it together. 
Lastly, close the opening.
