Our Giselle jacket pattern has a really sophisticated cut. The jacket consists of only three parts: a rectangle and the two sleeves. This makes the jacket super uncomplicated and easy to sew. Nevertheless, Giselle is optically something very special, because the rectangular shape creates a great waterfall collar.
Length at center back = 61-67 cm
Giselle was sewn from a soft knit in this pattern.
Required material:
We recommend a soft jersey or knit fabric.

cutting:
Make sure to insert the front and back sections across the grain, otherwise the larger sizes with a width of 1.40 cm will not fit on the fabric panel. Cut out the pattern pieces from your outer fabric. Lay the fabric right side up. Lay the selvedges parallel to the center so that you can lay the front and back pieces in the fold. The pattern pieces should all be face up. Always align the grain arrow on all pieces in the same direction and parallel to the selvage of the fabric. Transfer all the notches from the pattern through a 3mm long incision with scissors or chalk. Pinch the seam allowance in the fold of the fabric because this is always a center. Markings define positions of dart ends, pocket positions, etc. Transfer these either with chalk or pins.
You need from fabric:
- 1x front part & back part in break
- 2x sleeves in opposite directions
Sewing instructions:
To sew this jacket you need a sewing machine and an overlock sewing machine, alternatively you can use the zigzag stitch on your sewing machine to finish the raw edges.
In addition to the description, the colorful lines in the pictures show you where a seam needs to be sewn or something to be glued.
When sewing, pay attention to the seam allowance included in the pattern. Seam allowances that are not specially marked are 1 cm wide!

In this video, Christel shows you how to process a letter corner.
Begin your first sewing step by ironing the hems and edges of the front and back pieces by 1 cm. Work the corners of the letter, right sides together, on top of each other and iron the seam allowances apart.
Here you can see the fallen corner of the letter.
Now needle through the fold of the jacket and use it to fix the stretches.
Now you can put your edges under the sewing machine and stitch through the edges.
Iron the hems of the sleeves first 1 cm, then 4 cm.
Place the sleeves on top of each other, right sides together, sew the inner arm seam and neaten the seam allowances. Press the seam allowances backwards.
Pin the hems of the sleeves in place.
And stitch them tight at the edge.
Finally, sew the sleeves, right sides together, into the correct armhole. Orientate yourself on the snaps in the cut. Neat the seam allowances together.
